Kansas AEYC Board Retreat
2015
This past week, the Kansas AEYC governing board gathered to recap
the last year and begin planning for the upcoming year. The retreat took place
at the Hilton Garden Hotel, which is also the site for the 2015 Kansas AEYC Annual
Conference. During the retreat, members worked as part of committees to discuss
outreach to members, the upcoming annual conference, Week of the Young Child, and
public policy related to the Early Childhood field, among other things. Below are a few pictures of the various committee work!

After a day of working the first day, we had a wonderful dinner at Tallgrass Taphouse for some time to socialize and get to know our newest board members.

The board is very excited about the upcoming Kansas AEYC Annual
Conference on October 24th, 2015. This year the conference will be
hosted at a new location: The Hilton Garden Hotel in Manhattan, KS. The board
toured the facility during the retreat. The new location will allow for easier
travels and exploration of downtown Manhattan area.
Kansas AEYC members will also have the opportunity to register for
a member’s only event. This year, the Kansas AEYC board will be hosting a social at
the Beach Museum of Art. The social will take place October 23rd,
from 7:00-8:30. Become a member today and look for your invite in the mail!

A lot of our time was spent brainstorming about how we can
best serve our members and help members become more involved and have a voice
in the organization. We appreciate any feedback you may have about your
membership to Kansas AEYC.
We have a great year planned and we look forward to working
with our members and local chapters. Bookmark this site www.kansasaeyc.blogspot.com and continue checking back to read more from our board members, local chapters and student groups. See you all in October!!
